EBS Tournament - 2009Season recap
As was the case in 2004, five teams finished the regular season undefeated. Alabama, with Heisman trophy winner RB Mark Ingram,
and Texas, led by multiple Heisman finalist QB Colt McCoy, finished in the top two spots in the poll. Coach Brian Kelly guided
Cincinnati to its first undefeated season since 1918, joining the 2004 Auburn squad as undefeated BCS conference champions
excluded from national title contention. TCU's smothering defense helped earn the Horned Frogs their first EBS bye, and
Boise St finished a second-straight undefeated regular season (including a victory over Pac-10 champion Oregon). EBS TournamentInsight, Dec 22 Music City, Dec 24 Sun, Dec 23 Meineke C.C., Dec 22 Sugar Rose Cotton Capital One Orange Fiesta National Title Game
